if the series you uploaded is hard license and forbidden content , wouldnt it be more worst to host it on your website, you personally get DMCA and site nuke, and unless your reader is communicating with you / your trans team in discord, they will literally lost connection if that happens

The clause shouldn’t matter anyway because I assume everyone involved assumes this to be true anyway (MD and the uploaders), even if most uploaders don’t ask publishers for permission.

Let’s not pretend everything was sanctioned and a-ok before the purge. If you were uploading before, you might as well keep doing it if you weren’t affected.

Every site in the internet is responsible for handling DMCA take downs, but they aren't held accountable. Meaning, they have to take down the copyrighted material but they don't get in trouble for it. The onus has always and always will be on the uploader, there was never any shield, and this new terms of "getting permission" is the smallest thing to cover their ass. They can DMCA your site, your discord, wherever you decide to post. The only reasonable answer here is, "Mangadex has too many eyes on it, and it easily leads back to me." If you're really that worried about repercussions, put everything you have on a flash drive and upload from a burner account at a library.
