A number of fabrics are plant fiber based, and papers are also plant fibers, so its not that strange to be able to see through them. The odd part is not seeing through the ink; not sure the overlap with dyes, but that could negatively effect visibility through regular clothes too. But, given he would have prepared the cards he could have picked ideal cards (like ensured the ink had higher iron content or something).The cards are made of fabric fibers?
