ohhh i see. the social media = aristocrat society because it's all the upkeep of appearances without any real sentiment or emotion behind them. relationship and friendships are made for their material benefit or boost in popularity, rather than actually caring about the other people. Marie gets dumped by everyone as soon as she's not popular anymore, and associating with her becomes dangerous instead of potentially raising ur standing
