Aside from the elephant in the room, I like this chapter's construction - duality between 2 Maries. I wonder how "our" Marie-Joseph is going to develop and end up.
I TOLD YA! A psychopath is running wild now. Nobody cared enough in this family. Tbh, they might enable her, when they learn of her affinity for death. Sansons are already often talked about with disgust, so breaking the taboo and letting a woman become an executioner might not be off the table.
