YES, that's my girl! Marie-Joseph, learning to forsake anger, when it better serves her goals to be calm and collected. That's what we want! That's what Charles-Henri wants as well, so... reconciliation perhaps?
And obviously, as we're all literate people, this delusion of love was only in de la Tour's head, as he's sick, twisted and broken after his holier than god superior was killed. It's sad, but vital, that Marie is able to use herself as a tool to get what she wants too. She read the bastard perfectly, used his delusions to fill "the contract" and succeeded in showing her brother how capable she can be.
Absolute win of the epitome of freedom in this dark, oppressive story.
