What a sad, sad sight 
I should've expected that, when we kept seeing how closely Charles-Henri started to resemble Jean-Baptiste after that du Berry incident. Still a hard thing to bear and see. Such a fall for the same Charles-Henri who wanted to save the future of his nation, who protected his little sister from that psychotic bitch of a grandma they had.
And it's a mountain of reasons for all of that. A mountain of reasons why Charles-Henri's father was like that and why this whole family is cursed. It's not just because du Berry rode Charles-Henri's dick like a finest steed. It's the entiety of this. The system, rotten society living in it, all the hatred and violence Sansons need to engage in and all the humiliation their own people give them.
It's a machine. Charles-Henri was the one to change it. He was the Anakin Skywalker of this degenerocity. And he's now lord Vader of the same story. And how deeply in his head is this darkness rooted? Like, he's accepted that the role of a parent is a role of a tyrant, tormentor and a monster in children's eyes.
That villain line was heartbreaking, guys...
