I feel like the story from now on will have the element of "keep the elders interested or everyone dies". This is because this mission seems to be gathering votes from the elders not the humans on earth. It would also give the MC's elder a bit of sympathy from the reader because the story turns into "the jester elder is trying to keep earth alive by making things interesting".
