What does the option IRC channel and IRC server means when creating a new group?

I read a lot of mangas so I wanted to start scanlating. While researching, i came across the how to create a mangadex group thread and when i opened it, it showed a form to create a group. There were these options. Although they are optional, I dont want to regret later.

Twas a time before the mainstream discovered Discord, and after the perverts on AOL got arrested, a magical place existed (It still exists as a shadow of itself). It was called IRC. You can google the rest.

Before the beginning there was IRC and after the end there will be IRC.

Internet Relay Chat is a client server real time chat protocol.
IRC networks made up of servers host various services and chat rooms (channels).
Using an IRC client you connect to a network and then you can join a channel to talk with others.

So basically it's asking if you have an IRC channel and what IRC network does it live on.
