Disclaimer: not a mod, just a 45-year-old man who's getting a little irritated with some of the folks raising hell for the mods who keep this place up and running for the rest of us.
TLDR: Old man shouts at
cloud snowflake.
@Drunkendx - dude. Are you twelve? Is this your first time on the internet? If not, learn how to walk away from petty fights when the mods say 'walk away'. They wield the banhammer for a reason.
It's fine to express your opinion. It's fine to have a debate, spirited discussion, etc. about a topic, provided it stays within the bounds of the
site rules. But at some point, the horse is dead, so stop beating it. And if the mods say the horse is dead, it doesn't really matter if you thought you saw it twitching - your best (and only viable) option at that point is to treat it like it's well and truly dead and move on.
The mods/devs/etc. here are keeping what is, by pretty much any measure I can find, a top 1000 site in the world up and running on a shoestring budget (which I will note you are contributing to, so kudos for that). I do not believe forum moderation is their top priority. I do not believe it is their second priority. I would guess it's about fifth or sixth on the list, on a good day. However, if and when they do come around to tidy up, it seems that the heaviest consequences are handed out to the folks who have ignored previous warnings.
Cut the mods some slack, stop behaving like a brat, grow the fuck up, and learn how to let go. If you want to shitpost with (relative) abandon, come join the regulars in the lounge section. Provided you don't start in on politics or racism or tell someone to go commit suicide, there's a pretty broad margin for being a terrible person in some of those threads. (Related -
read the damn rules.) But bear in mind that
yes, the mods
do have subjective leeway to decide what flies and what doesn't. They generally seem to give warnings first, but if someone goes entirely off the rails, the bans will come out straightaway. And for the love of crisps, don't argue with the mods in public.
