Did they... did they really spare the cartoonishly evil villain who murdered an innocent soldier right in front of them? Unless they were just taking his corpse back to the mainland, why would they let him survive, especially after disgracing him with complete and utter defeat like that? Dude was a total psychopath, and they just shattered his ego, making him even more dangerous to be around. Do they think he'll just do nothing and lie around like a good boy after that? If more people die because he was let loose, their lives will be on the hero's hands, yet he, a gladiator, is more concerned about not dirtying his hands himself?
