they do make animal ears that can move nowadays but if you saw it irl other than touching them outta impulse, which would get you smacked if ur not a kid (who wouldn't be able to reach anyways unless they bent down and were asked), i imagine most ppl wouldn't think "oh they're some kinda beast person/alien/etc" tho i imagine they can get a cute animal hood or so if not some 'illusion spell' that hides it but i guess there would be ppl in public polite enough to not question it or so
