Just because magic exists doesn't make everything simple and easy.
Every concept follows certain rules, and unless you understand those said rules, it would be hard to apply them.

Just take the example on how long it took for MC to just create a Heat Enchanted item, because he needed to apply a mechanic based on logic he never worked with before. The same reason why the room of the Prince got caught in fire as well.

The difference between a Train and a Aircraft is that, one just requires knowledge on a certain aspect (in case of a Train, it's just about moving forward while carrying cargo, but a Aircraft needs extra concept to be covered as well).

Primary problem here is that, MC has to work fast on his project, so that Liz can join in quick while also not losing her Adventurer license. Which is why Train system is a more easier concept for him, rather than a Aircraft as it would require more effort.
I mean, for the Train, he can basically outsource a lot of the parts creation and lay-down work to someone else, while he himself can just focus on creating the engine. But in case of an Aircraft, he would have to focus not only on the flight system, but also on the structure and all the other related stuff.

Just saying that "that world has magic, so it would be easy" isn't a simple solution.

Plus, MC isn't the type who gives benefit to a single person, he does things which helps a lot of people (which is why he is a Crafter). His end goal is to make others happy (based on his time in the Game, where he created buildings for others to enjoy, considering the fact that his creation turned into an Online Dating & Proposal spot).
I never said it's simple. I never even said it's necessarily possible, just that it should be considered first, otherwise his solution is like killing mosquitos by means of artillery.

He might have the basic concept of how to go about it down, but it's far from being so straightforward as you claim. It's still a several hundred kilometer route, and it's not like you can just lay down railroads wherever. Even assuming a route that avoids natural barriers etc. is already ploted you still need to do a lot od land engineering to make it suitable, things like hardening the soil, at the very least. Also, he can't really outsource without first tutoring a lot of people how to make devices which they have no concept of. As I've written elsewhere, this is a megaproject for a feudal civilization and it isn't going to be fast no matter what.

The greater problem is that once he shows himself capable of running such a construction, he won't be allowed to do anything else but that, until the country is satisfied. It won't end with one route and that's just the immediete consequence, before the real issues with a medieval kingdom having mass transit rear their heads.

As someone considering making a rail network in a pathfinder game I'm in, I'm very curious what the next few chapters address.

If you have the vehicle run on magic, you need...magic. The girl has little magic so she would run out extremely fast. If she'd use magic for transportation, she wouldn't be able to defend herself from monsters.
If you do NOT use magic, then you still need fuel. It would be difficult to find fuel that could last the entire trip on a vehicle small enough to allow them actually make the trip based on the conditions on the road.
This kinda is a moot point. Didn't he basically make a perpetual water out of nothing and a heating for the baths thingy? You have water and heat - you can go after steam engine with never ending fuel.

The roads and other issues still stands thou - part that making roads vs making train tracks is probably the same amount of work, and depending on speeds required road could be actually easier? Especially that they already have some routes made.

I wonder what that professor interaction with Miyabi. All of the rules , data and sources would be useless. Crafts is useless in a fight? build a ironman suit in a cave with bunch of scraps ...oh wait wrong universe....

My guess, he would train pun intended the prince to handle the train business after creating the blueprint and prototype.

Hold up, what does public transport have to do with that? I could understand if he built roads and pedestrian crossings - natural habitats for Truck-kun. Is there any well known method of being isekaied that involve trains?

I vaguely recall some isekai that involve train derailment and accidents.

nono i think you have a point, he could create gauntlets that would protect his arms and have the ability to insert wooden slabs that he could then inscribe different formulas on it to be used for attacks. Then again it would depend on if he could inscribe things that arent directly touching his skin, how well he could inscribe things on the fly, how powerful can the inscribed stuff be (like if he combines wind and fire could he create a slab that would spit out a fire tornado perhaps?) the gauntlet would mainly be there to protect his hands and direct the power. Or oooh maybe he could do something like omyoujis where he could preinscribe formulas and only finish it just before throwing them?

… i want to try it out so bad now lol

In a world with monster, flying seems more reliable than a train. Its way harder to introduce tho, hmm. Or maybe if its underground train but its a ridiculous amount of work needed. :worry:
this sounds a lot like a jinx that a dragon will attack a flying transport. or a griffon. or harpy.

is he seriously gonna make a train system between those two towns just to stay together in a party?
welp, talk about an overreaction.
though i'm more surprised he isn't going for planes.
i mean, sure those are quite a bit more more complex to make in real life, but this is a magic world with enchantments and golems and stuff. i think he could make a hovering box quite easily and adding a propulsion system is simple too.

This entire manga is just a love letter to public infrastructure, first the public footbath and now TRAINS LETSGOOOOOO. Can't wait for Miyabi to introduce this world to the bidet or something lmao

Can someone transcribe this? I can read the bigger bubble, but the small one...
LVhRYb8.jpeg
i can't read it either, I know the first part of the smaller bubbles says "I can't really give you an answer unless I know the variables (i think?) in play". I have no idea if we were supposed to be able to read the super tiny text after that or its suppose to just be like him trailing off that we aren't suppose to focus on tho.
