The snake lost it eyes, so it can't see. Snake head even after cut off can still active I think, also venom stuffs still work. I guess the head just want to attack randomly and eat since natural behavior and stuff. It feel something in it mouth so it just try to eat it, not knowing it its tail (how csn it known anyway)
Snake is somewhat elastic because it can eat animal bigger than it size and mouth normally .

This is kind of irrelevant to the chapter, but I'm still incredibly pissed off at the world's worst mother from a while back who kicked this whole thing off. Not only is she sacrificing her daughter to kill tons of people, but she also had the audacity to propose to the MC while simultaneously threatening the people under his protection (y'know, the people who his whole thing is that he protects them).

Like, I'm riding this arc out in the hopes that she gets some kind of comeuppance, or that her plan ultimately backfires in some way (not just fails, but backfires, and has results that run directly opposite to her end goals, like ruining the empire she was doing this in the name of).
