Sweet pork dishes like this never really appealed to me. Shogayaki, tocino, maple bacon, etc.

The light, fatty flavor really gets overpowered by the sweetness and kinda brings out the gaminess. Sweet beefs work waay better imo

The image of pork chop in my head is the pork steak cut with curve bone still in it. I guess it's the Western style pork chop.

I personally get revenge for those by putting teriyaki sauce on sushi 😂

But yeah, hearing about the "deep flavor" of ketchup never ceases to amaze me; alas, the damages of prolonged American domination...
