A zombie apocalypse would be the kind of situation, as opposed to our normal lives in peaceful countries, where things are more likely to go wrong than right. So, if you were told the rescue happens most likely in a couple of days, at most a week later, but the maximum deadline came and went, without anything happening, it's better to assume it won't be coming at all. Even a minor thing, like the helicopter needing a single spare part, could more or less permanently render it inoperable for good, instead of only needing a couple of days of work under normal conditions. After all, all logistics are mostly gone in an apocalypse, nor is there necessarily a second chopper around to send instead.

I don't think so. This incident, along with the "clean zombie" the MC took out earlier point towards the infection (or whatever it is) being able to spread in other ways than just bodily fluids.

You'd think a crashed heli would be a pretty easy thing to spot for the MC, given both his vision and the fact the he had a thorough look around for survivors...

Since no one knows the source of the zombie, can't he just pin the source to be magical and then play the part of awakening a new power. He can start with physical enchantments like the super strength and super speed cause it's easier to mask it as accidental discovery then slowly "awaken" other magics.

Nah man, just the evac scenario from The Last Stand (flash game).
Picked up survivors with heli, one of them turned, crash.
Now we're heading to Last Stand 2 where we're going to Union City.
I just wonder if we'll be doing the Union City MMO (Dead Zone) or the Union City escape route.
