"Smack them around until they wake up" is a standard mahou shoujo trope.Uh oh. MC is gonna kill her friends at this rate.
Maybe, maybe not. But I don't think a heroine "protecting everyone's smiles" would be ok with enabling the assault on the civilians in the town outside in order to get to him.I think we expected this to happen. I mean wasn't it last chapter where she had the thought of aren't humans stealing the smiles of demons. Given that a magical girl is to protect everybody's smiles, who qualifies as everybody? I would say a "Brave" that kills children and believes that going straight to extremes like murder probably shouldn't fall under that grouping (including if he has some BS backstory about how the magical girls led the demons to kill his village which probably had them injured, left them to die, and actively made their life worse). Does a king who protects his people with extremes such as using forbidden magic to manipulate his daughter's memories because of an inconvenient truth count?
Even if she's sympathetic to their cause, I doubt someone that would willingly endorse these methods would be someone that Haruna calls a friend like this.
We last saw her at the start of chapter 1. Haruna was warped as they had just finished a battle and were being told about "a big magic crystal under their town" that needed to be destroyed to stop the monster attacks by their team mascot thing.
Haruna was warped alone, as far as we know.
From what the hero said, the other mahou shoujo were active before (or maybe simultaneously with, though I think things have been happening too quickly for the destruction of the hero's hometown to be similtaneous...) Haruna's arrival. That means the order in which they warped does not correspond to when they arrived...
We don't know if the circumstances of their warping were the same as Haruna's or not. They could have been sent over as a consequence of the attack on the "big magic crystal" under their town (or some other operation), or they could have been defeated (and gotten captured... Magical girls being brainwashed and slapped back to their senses is not uncommon in the genre), or even the mascot could be something other than it seems.
I think the original transformation lines are meant to be read like a single-line summoning command: "Bloom brilliantly, magic of smiles!" (i.e.: requesting the magic of smiles to bloom). Similar to shikai in Bleach (e.g.: "Dance, Sode no Shirayuki!").You can ignore this post because I'm here just to make some explanation because I'm taking some liberty with translating some line in this chapter.
The second one is this.

I asked my proofreader to make it more like a transformation spell and this is the result. It's good, that's why I use it.
