Maybe in this world with drop items and crafting classes, there are no mundane miners, gathers, and crafters? Maybe everything is produced the way it is shown in this chapter?I don't quite get this whole crafting thing. What's so special about that dagger, compared to a dagger made using iron at an ordinary smithy? Maybe items with empty slots (to be enhanced) can only be created this way? Still, obviously if you accumulate a whole lot of otherwise useless junk from dungeons and can then turn them into valuable items by using the blacksmith skill, it's a decent source of money.
The manga doesn't explain it very well, and even then the novel doesn't make it clear until much later. There aren't many 'ingredients' that are sourced from the outside world. I believe that Sherry makes a comment of astonishment when Michio at some point asks how much better 'Blacksmithed' swords (from combined labrynth materials) are than ones made from normal ore refining/hammering methods, as she'd never seen that done. Clearly there are ways as the hardware/housing couple make their own woks, but it may be that only simple iron items are made this way and steel and better metals must be 'blacksmithed' by a Dwarf.I don't quite get this whole crafting thing. Considering that the english translation has been going so slowly that we started back in late November 2015 and only now are at volume 6, chapter 4 (part 3; TL likes to split chapters into 15-20ish parts), I fully expect the manga to catch up and surpass the english translation, too.Cute, we're getting to more crafting! ...which is totally not something weird to be happy about, of all things...
Other than that, that's quite a drip feed on the artist's part. One would think with the LN, that this would go faster...
And maybe not everything, if the MC is so insistent on pussyfooting about it. Just tell her that he has a skill to see system information, where he gains all of that mysterious knowledge from, but as he has no experience with it at large, he doesn't have the context or ways to apply this groundbreaking knowledge. Boom, isekai and hero background still a secret, but system knowledge explained without a single lie (except the omission part, but those are already his own matters). The more I've read the story and such, I really think Michio would be incredibly well-served if he took Sherry alone into his complete confidence and explained everything about himself and what he's learned about skills, levels, etc. After getting over the shock of it all her mind would be incredibly adept at figuring out the madness of it all and finding ways to make it work for them.
If he hasn't got any particular aims to achieve in that world, it might not matter that much. Better keep it secret. If the info happened to leak, he would be captured by some royals, nobles, magic organisation, slavers, corrupt merchants, evil church, demons, you name it, to be used as an extremely convenient tool. It does cause him occasional trouble to keep minding his words and come up with petty lies, and it certainly will slow down his efforts to make progress, but at the end of the day, he's still making a whole lot faster progress than anyone else.
Keep in mind that chronologically, the first time we meet Michio is when he’s googling ways to kill himself. Then only a day or so after killing a man for the first time, he slits the throats of like two bandits in their sleep and decapitates a third - not because he had to survive, but because he wanted a slave to have sex with. Why doesn't the MC just tell them he's from another world. Would make explaining things easier. He could also explain how he has the appraisal skill and can change their jobs. Is not like they will betray him because of the collars around their necks.
