Let's be honest here.
With how much worldbuilding they've done up to this point they're not gonna restart the world, they're not gonna let the MC die only to bring out some new it's-actually-this-guy MC, they're not gonna let the MC die and continue the story through the view(s) of the other characters.
SOOOOOO, it's pretty obvious MC is gonna survive this through some deus-ex-machina, the smug little bwitch will either escape OR someone will teleports behind you her.

What really sucks is that we're gonna have to now wait months to get past this obvious cliffhanger and back to what's really interesting in this story, the world and/or country/empire-building.

Nah, mc has been impaled in the last pages of a chapter. Obviously it is permanent. No good writer would ever kill off their mc and then not let them stay dead, or otherwise retcon it somehow later on. Just look at Attack on Titan, mc died early on and it hadn't been retconned before the episode ended, and as a result he never returned. Or look at chainsaw man, where mc died. And he clearly stayed dead.

Oh, you are pointing out that criteria of "good writer"? I suppose that is true, there are bad ones too. But surely the writer who randomly killed bug-mom in some really contrived fashion can't be considered bad?

as we saw from the witch and saints talk, atou is 100% brainwashed with no will of her own,so it doesn't make sense for her to be punished since she was a victim in that case

is it just me or does something feel off about that hooded person? like all their dialogue looked like it was coming from 2 different people but the speech bubbles and panels made it seem like it was all coming from them. are there 2 people inhabiting that body or were the mangaka and editor high as a kite and just completely fucked up those few pages.

In regards Atou's brainwashing, Atou does unfortunately develop some form of affection for team d&d but I think this buildup serves more as a plot device to build takuto's character and establish his standing as the evil king

To anyone wondering as to how long this arc will take (in manga form), I personally would it expect it to go as long as 6-8 chapters. Since we've already seen the manga cut out a lot of information and/or exposition from the original ln. I think it's safe to assume if we base of the original arcs length that they will only cover the key points in the story.

This is not how how D&D works at all!
1st: You cannot persuade a NPC to kill their friend, family, person of importance to them. It is a skill check not magic. No matter how many Nat20 rolled.
2nd: There is only 1 spell that could make Atou behave like this right this instance, Dominate Monster. But that would at max work for 8 hours.
3rd: And this is the biggest shit of them. A DM cant roll for Players and he DEFINITELY cant do anything at all himself(cast spells, use skills etc.) as he does not exist in the world. He does do rolls for NPCs and controlls their behaviour though.
