She was testing if he would touch her?
I believe he is a knight from a different kingdom. His king asked him to assist her. So, technically he isn't her subordinate.1) I don't like the new knight guy. For someone who's supposed to be the subordinate of the princess, he treats Makoto like crap sometimes. I get that neither he nor Ingrid can cook, but basically demanding that Makoto make them breakfast is a bit of a dick move.
Honest men are the rudest men after all.More like to see if he's honorable/wouldn't take advantage of her while she's asleep and defenseless. She's talked a lot about how she thinks he's a good man, so this was likely meant to be confirming that.
2 other asides:
1) I don't like the new knight guy. For someone who's supposed to be the subordinate of the princess, he treats Makoto like crap sometimes. I get that neither he nor Ingrid can cook, but basically demanding that Makoto make them breakfast is a bit of a dick move.
2) Major L that the author has decided Ingrid's camouflage magic is permanent and she'll seemingly just never have her ears out again. If cute elf princess is just going to look like a generic human girl what's even the point?
