a tablespoon of salt is ALSO basic arithmetic, your point?

and for your information, peasants are uneducated and not dumb(well mostly). Something as basic as addition and substraction is a common knowledge in each household. How else they count money? how else they count how many cows and crops they have? How DO they count their harvest? How bakeries back then teaching the recipes.

If you think about it, people back then are amazing. How else do they discovered how to brew a wine? how to make a yeast? Hell, they even make TOFU! Which is time consuming and hard to make if you make yourself at home.

And so so so much more.

Uneducated yes, Dumb? not really.
It's not like every era knows how to use tools to measure stuff in the end of the day, that's the society the author wrote, you can't expect everything in fiction to follow the history of reality.

Not every era use the same tools that's yes, but they have the similiar tools. Even back day in egyptian has measurement in their recipe.

Not everything must follow history is reality, I really am agreeing to this one. But just because it's a fiction doesn't mean it can be inconsistent. That's just bad writing on their part, these guys have RANK system IN their guild, how the hell they even measure it? They have MONEY, how do they count it?

I am not shitting on this manga for no reason, I want it to be better.

As I said, all is going according to the world the author wants to write. You can't expect fiction to always have the same logic as reality. And how is it bad for not entirely following real history?

You didn't get my point? It doesn't need to follow real life history. It just need to realistically logical enough, just like Idk, they have beers and alcohols?

i never NEVER said it has to be historically accurate, it just need a touch of reality instead of plot convenience. Except there is like an explanation like "basic waterball has exactly 1 Liter of water per spell so people doesn't need count" or like "this world's food/tech sucks because people are too convenient with magic."

besides, it's very logical to measure it with something with you use everytime in real life while need to be sorta accurate.

Like cooking one cup of rice with one cup of water, oh wow. This woodplank need to be sized twices as my feet, etc.

Like ANY measurement should do the work.

It's based on a webnovel you can find for free if you copy/paste the JP title, but
idk how much feedback the author got on that versus fawning over ochibi being cute (which, while not impossible i wonder how endearing that comes off in text only versus manga form)
