The five year old comments did this series wrong. Once the prequel is done, the story gets better.
The story is a fresh take on the typical isekai and many tropes are used in a new way. I've honestly never read something like this before. This may start out like a shake'n'bake mango, but it's definitely not something that's been done before.
Having finished up to chapter 59, wow, the story really changes scene after the first major arc. It actually gets kinda wholesome. I can't wait to see where the mangaka manages to take the story before it ends.
The only complaints I have is regarding the translation. Names change chapter to chapter, and once the spelling changed several times within a chapter. "Dungeon beasts" and "labyrinth beasts" are used interchangeably within chapters numerous times, as though multiple people worked on translating the same chapter and never agreed on one. Honourifics are abandoned, yet -sama is retained sometimes. Meanwhile, the silly "<name> big bro" bs is used when absolutely no English speaker has ever spoken that way. Properly localising by dropping "big bro" completely or retaining the original honourifics, and correcting the naming inconsistencies, would greatly improve the reading experience.
That said, I offer my thanks to the translation team for picking up this series. It deserves more love than it did five years ago.
