It seems that to be the case. Though I wonder if the cat will retain the memories and personality that the Farming God wanted him to keep. I suppose we'll see in the coming chapters.

魔族 Mazoku: Demons like Frau, Bizel, the Demon King, etc
古の悪魔 Inishie no Akuma: Ancient Devils like Gucci, Bulga, Stifanno, Versa, Prada,
悪魔 Akuma: Devils like Kusuden and those in the floating castle (4th village).
魔神 Majin: Depending on the context it could be a Devil, Evil Spirit, Genie or since we're talking about a god, the devil god.
All share the kanji 魔 ま(Ma) (1) demon; devil; evil spirit; evil influence; (n-suf) (2) -crazed person; -obsessed person; fiend; (adj-no) (3) dreaded; terrible; awful; dreadful; (P), but that same Kanji is also used in 魔法　Mahou (Magic, sorcery, witchcraft).
Also the problem with all of them is that the english translation of any of them could interchangeably be demon, devil, evil,etc. thus to distinguish between each, the WN Translation for example stuck to Demon for Mazoku, Devil for Akuma and Evil God for Majin.

The character 魔 in 悪魔 akuma = devil, 魔族 mazoku = demons (literally: evil tribe), or 魔神 majin/mashin = evil god, does mean ‘evil’ but also ‘magic’.
