Even unarmed, it is evident the members of Nightmare are going to win (or, at worst, be resurrected afterwards with the ring-ex-machina). I disagree. fights can still be fun even if the outcome is obvious. best example: one punch man.
most of the time the manga focussed on Kuro for fairly obvious reasons, but giving the other characters a bit of a spotlight for once is also nice. we also get a bit of characterisation of a bunch of them.
while it is true that the story didn't exactly make huge progress I still wouldn't call it filler.

True, but nothing prevents him from making more with his ability (aside from his personal reluctance because how the other members used their rings).
