Welp could've brought in an SMG instead. Even a 9mm will work in this setup. Then switch to at least a 5.56mm (M4) or 7.62mm or .30cal (M14) assault rifle later on. If the main boss is stubborn, bring in the .50cal ones

I don't quite understand the logic. MC would rather let Lena keep working as barmaid rather than taking back the purse from the suspicious woman. And then they accepted the suspicious thief's "help" unquestioningly even though she still didn't explain anything. They can't be sure that the thief wouldn't backstab them at the end to get all the gold.

Also, can't those that don't want to fight just quickly surrender once the fight starts? Because now way it's a fight to the death, or the population would drop real fast.

COME ON SON. If you didn't want to kill anyone, then a gas mask and a 6 shot 40mm with riot control rounds, plus a shotgun loaded with beanbags would be way better. In fact, they have pump action shotguns that are magazine fed now. (Example: https://www.mossberg.com/590m-mag-fed-50206.html) Although I'm not usually into such guns (most of the time topping up a tube as you go is more than enough for a pump action), in this case you can use the 40MM as crowd control, and the shotgun to take down individual participants without killing them. The pump action will let you cycle the weaker less lethal rounds, and the magazine fed aspect will allow you to reload much faster against a crowd of people.

Edit: He might as well get a taser shotgun at that point. Although he probably couldn't get one since the taser shells only work in this specific modified shotgun. There's definetly not a airsoft model of this.

Since airsoft internals aren't even close to firearm internals, maybe he can make an airsoft clone IRL and it'll magic it's way into existence. He may have an issue if the participants have metal or leather armor, though. I mean, with the bean bags armor would also reduce the effectiveness, but maybe he could go for a head shot. Irregardless we both agree a 1911 is suboptimal lol.
