Normally I'd side with your argument, because yeah... I see it as well, but given the more light-hearted nature of the series (and the fact that flannan pointed out) I'm willing to assume in this case the purpose behind them wasn't so dark. Despite the usual nature of vampires.

I think some people here need to read some more light hearted manga for a bit, also remember demons are just another race of people in this setting so they're not 'evil', those are just birth control potions not rape potions.
