They're collecting rocks for the siege. Which means rock powers have been integrated into the basic movement of the army.

With that, it's impossible to hide the rock people, so now they'll use it as advertisement to justify getting off the battlefield and just securing all the statues.

That's good for the MC in the short term, but it's not going to be worth it unless MC can secure the hostages with minimal casualties of his people.

So he's keeping the peace and working behind the scenes with it coming across as him being a bum. I'm glad someone else picked up on this. I think he'll be an important character later on. Thanks for reading! I don't think this series gets the love it deserves...... yet lol.

Doesn't matter too much how a relationship starts, unless there's deception or other negatives involved. People can always learn to get along. Which is really how marriages have worked for the vast majority of history. Marrying for love as the default is relatively modern.

Taking a castle is no small task. And that one looks rather well structured.
