Well now it makes more sense why the land is worth all these conspiracies, but god did they wait a long-ass time to reveal themselves. Nagi really doesn't give a crap about Isaza.

Ah, THAT'S why we needed to get stone wife outta the way. I like the buildup to this, and the reveal of Nagi's character. It was frustrating to be there for, but the payoff here in worldbuilding and characterization is good.

"We don't want trouble."
"These arrogant hermits sure like acting pretty high and mighty."
I wonder what goes on in that brain. Logic ain't it.

Rewarded as a traitor deserves. But not as who she serves deserves.

That's not a betrayal. She was told Mio would be spared and had no choice but to believe that. Just because it's not what Mio wanted doesn't make it a betrayal. :bleh:
Every people that Mio loved was about to die if her plan succeeded. That’s betrayal. Mio would’ve been unhappy and alone for her whole life.
Called it. Though she didn't die but was about to if not for the asspull. Now everything will be forgiven betreyal included. So predictable.
Exactly. Just because her intentions weren’t bad she’ll be forgiven. They’ll forget that every time their plan didn’t work, it’s probably because she was leaking the plan to the ennemies. Did her scheme succeed, her lady would’ve all alone in a foreign land, her dad, brother, brother in law and husband all dead. Smh

It literally is. She hand over the little dude and everything her lady hold dear in exchange of saving their own hides which is AGAINST her lady's wishes. She was already a long time spy mind you and knew the conspiracy from the very start. There is no universe where all of these are not count as betrayal unless you are thinking with your dick instead.

Option 1: Nagi doesn't do what they say and Mio dies

Option 2: Nagi does what they say because she believes Mio will be spared

Nagi chooses option 2

Lets ignore when that actually started shall we because it doesnt help our narrative.

She been acting as a spy for quite a while, this mean she couldnt just quit otherwise she would been exposed, all they did was offer enough for her justify turning her with obviously they having no intention of even honoring that deal, she accepted because she was in a tight spot and grabbed at the opportunity she had.

Also its was obvious she would turn, the author wouldnt have that sob story and just have her killed off, the fact she is one of the stone people was the biggest reveal were the with Village it was kinda obvious it would be heading that way the moment those two shown up, especially when it make it a confrontation.

SHE'S BEEN LEAKING INFORMATION ABOUT THEIR ACTIONS FOR A LONG TIME NOW.

Did you skip the entire chapter or what? She is a fucking enemy spy.

How about options 3: Tell everyone what the hell is going on even if you are part of it. But that would get you killed as well so we can't have that.

She was a thieving commoner child taken in by a noble and then approached by someone with more power than herself and told to give him info. You think she had a choice genius?

Every backstabber insists that they had no choice. How about informing the other party? You know, be honest? Instead of throwing the girl's entire family and loved ones under the bus to save your own hide.

Yeah I'm sure in fantasy medieval Asian society that any commoner who was just taken in on the whim of a princess would be taken seriously if she says she was told to spy by some other noble or military officer. I'm sure that plays out perfectly in your head anyways 🙄

Yes? Are you saying its better to leak information, endanger plans involving nation wide progress, getting entire family of the said princess killed? Princess literally thinks of her like her sister. Why wouldn't she listen what she has to say.
Do you even bother to read what you write before hitting send?

Because the Princess HOLDS NO POWER since she isnt one, she is simply the daughter of the Lord and know this because WE SEEN THE EMPEROR AND HIS MOTHER.

You are painting a picture in your mind about what you want her to be and making her a monster because it suits your sense of black/white morality, you bring up she was a spy for long time but then ignore that until now there was no internal conflicts as none are mentioned, this situation is new and so for years she had really nothing to report or they just asked her for information that was either not important or seemingly unimportant.

Also you are ignoring the moment they reneged on the deal, she turned that makes what he said right ... she took the choice that seemingly keep her alive, the whole "she could have told then she was a spy" and then she would be executed for it considering were she come from, there is also the issue of her being one of the a Stone People and she is aware of that, question is when she became and/or how since that could be levied against her.
