Indeed. It's quite risky to do this "publicly" like this. Buying it from the black market through a middleman would have been much better, if she could have arranged it, perhaps through the Master. If there were zero witnesses knowing how she got the egg, nobody could really blame her for it. They could only blame the thief and the black market. She merely bought what was on the market and could use any lie to explain it, with nobody able to say anything about it. But doing it like this, she's now directly involved in the heist.
