It still has to firmly affix in cork, and physics has a limit. One of my old pubs didn't have particularly sharp darts, but I know one guy still got one in his temporal lobe. He was fine, but he still had to go to hospital for hours; so that's why you don't hang around downrange.

Although as a kid we had a blunt magnet dartboard, it was just bollocks.
