For me this is like the best and how it should be in the "I ____ and now im after a carefree life!" genre should be. I dont really like the stupid dense mc stereotype and also the trying to hide his power setting but this one made it work nicely. Now hes quite openly being OP and being what OPed should be like.

The interaction with the wife is the best thing. Usually they would make it so the mc has an unclear harem or quite the characterless women thats only for fluffing up the story or cant really do anything other than just being a wife. Which kinda have flaws when paired with an op mc who will feel like a pushover for the plot. But here, we got the Empress realize the mc's secret and also knows his desires. Because she is an empress with some power + the soft rice thingaling, she can actually make promises to meet his wants instead of just a helpless maiden that her only job is being a damsel in distress. Zi Ruoyan still does play that role but shes not totally and exclusively just a damsel in distress.

But this still having the manhua inconsistent quality is unfortunate.
