Yeah, it has been for a couple chapters now. In fact, like 20 chapters. They can't really just flipped whenever they want but they can see an hourglass in their dream and by flipping it, they can either reversed back to their old self and vice versa. There is even a chapter where they debated about whether or not they would just keep turning young, and baa-san being scared of outliving their descendants and having to watch their children and grandchildren passed away before them.So can they control their ageing now? Was that something they had mentioned in a previous chapter?
What the fuck, if all the magical age regression was just a metaphor for Terminal Lucidity, that's pretty fucked up thenI do remember my professor saying that in Alzheimer patients despite the degeneration of the memory the patient still retains something called emotional memory, which basically means that people will still feel the emotions associated with things or people, despite forgetting why said feeling exists in the first place.
I'm not saying that it definitely applies here, but it does add a bit of depth to the story and I like it.
If you're a sucker for redemption stories like me, I invite you to join me in my head-canon (instead of that theory about the manga's purpose):What the fuck, if all the magical age regression was just a metaphor for Terminal Lucidity, that's pretty fucked up then

Actually it might apply because we know from previous chapter that Baa-sama’s younger sister has late stage dementia where she has the memories of her childhood and when she visited that one time as her younger self, her sister immediately believed that Baa-sama was her mom.I do remember my professor saying that in Alzheimer patients despite the degeneration of the memory the patient still retains something called emotional memory, which basically means that people will still feel the emotions associated with things or people, despite forgetting why said feeling exists in the first place.

Which is why I'm really worried about this current arc...And don't forget that the Hourglass is leaking when turned over. Meaning even if their youth is back, their time is not
