When the original text uses terms like "tsukkomi", which don't really have a proper translation to English, I feel like it's better to just use "tsukkomi" in the translation and explain what it means in a TL note. Not only does it more accurately convey the meaning of the original text, the reader can also learn things about Japanese culture.
