It's not just that, it's also that it's basically just a gag manga with a romcom theme. It's like 95% comedy and 5% romance. Every chapter is short (like 10-11 pages) and the vast majority are completely disjointed from each other, so most of them are just a single extended joke and a punchline. There's almost no progress after 68 chapters, and it doesn't really have a plot other than will they won't they, so there's basically nothing but weird jokes 24/7. It could've been a 4-koma.

I usually bitch about artificial dribble or author trying to stretch the story.
Here though? Not really, chapters are short and their progress is much better than some "normal" MC's in maga.
She is on the spectrum and he is just ordinary Joe who might have lowered self-esteem or not willing to engage with women above his pay grade (high maintenance).
And despite their shortcomings they have bigger progress than some other manga couples. (roughly 2 chapters here are 1 or 0.7 chapters in other rom-coms).

It's still a story about herbivore man and predatory woman (the usual trend). But MMC isn't a doormat just a bit passive, which a big step considering ordinary trend of herbivore, mr.goody with doormat being his title and profession men.
