Feels weird to think that after uploading a chapter every week for 9 weeks that it won't just be part of my routine next Saturday.
It's Christmas Time, all the real obligations come first. Though your work is quite appreciated. We are just all text on the screen, so take a rest and do what you have to. Thank you for the new chapter and see you in January sometime.

Besides I'm sure we all have a pile of Shame to tackle.

The bike might be the only model Iroha will ever build. It could be she just wants to spend time with her friend, but since Yanmo is only thinking about models, she decided to use that method to connect with Yanmo. But if she only really cares about Yanmo, not really about the models, it's not that reasonable she would keep buying models. It's serious money and if she doesn't enjoy it, it's no good. But time will tell. She could also be the kind of person who can enjoy a whole lot of things.

"Pile of shame".... :dogkek: Well, well. Not so different in the end.

I've also checked the Volks' model featured. :korone: I think it's the first time I mentally justified being fussy with the airbrush paint. Retributor Armor or even Liberator Gold seem like a waste on that beauty (the head, though...).

It's nice that they're actually friends, since she came off as a bit 'gatekeep-y' this and the last chapter (understandable if you don't want something like a friend snacking on ice cream near your collectibles but 'confiscating' something someone bought with their own money would be kinda off putting tho at least she was joking about it or so)

well they are child hood friends but at least it's not like she dislikes her or anything bc someone more cunning/opportunistic could've easily been like "oh you're a rich model, you must buy me 30 dollars worth of materials/paints per week if you want to spend time with me" lol

Don't worry, Tamiya's golden paints are way "thicker" (chonkier?)... Hard to explain but they feel way more better.

Iroha is Lachesis? Well, Sopp does have two female forms, so that kinda checks out.

cracks knuckles we're finally in my element....

Thoroughly enjoyed this chapter, here are some thoughts and further observations you may find useful (or ignore) lol

Page 3.
The Volks IMS 1/100 FSS series of kits... man how can I describe this, they are glorious things to behold but to build them can be labour intensive, much more than your usual Gundam MG. Unlike the polished product that bandai puts out there, you will need more work, plastic will have some imperfections, like sinkholes, polycap sockets may not fit, Fragile parts,
overcomplicated assembly and parts that put focus on detail rather being more user friendly for the construction.

So shopkeeper, its not sitting in my pile of shame, lol Yakumo is right ,its just that it will need a handful to build it and I need the right motivation and time lol.

Page 5.
Lol Yakumo, whatever you are talking about, Iroha's ersatz Katana kit is cheap (2000 yen) compared to your KOG (11000+ yen)
plus she's just exaggerating, the Tamiya Katana is a cheap novice kit lol

Page 8.
The advanced artificial intelligence they are referring to is actually the most important part in the FSS world, The Fatima.
Yakumo described a bit poorly but they are not clunky AI or internal computers in the mech but a living breathing artificial humanoid with advanced computational ability somewhat akin to the Replicants in Blade Runner.
They act as co pilots (or waifus) to the Headdliner, synching with the MH, and without one it will be almost impossible to operate a MH.

However, there are non sentient organic computers, Eritmils that a Headdliner can use, but it pales in comparison to a Fatima operated one (unless you are freaking Decors Weissmel lol. No shit, he might have sucked in the movie, but in the Manga, he is an incredibly skilled badass.)

How big of a deal the Fatima are? well, they are the reason of the FSS movie after all.

Page 9.
About gothicmade,
For such a long running series like FSS and helmed by only one person, there have got to be changes here and there as Mamoru Nagano fell out and fell in love with different new concepts and trends of the times. There are 3 different changes in style in FSS I can see so far,

1st: 80's look with chunky solid MH designs, Fatima's dress like secretarys and personal assistants, 80's asf flared shoulders

2nd: 90's- 2000s look, Nagano got hit by the Curse of Evangelion. Fatima's started wearing skintight plugsuits (aka Plastics style) MH proprtions become more thinner and feminine, Mechs start to wear high heels instead of flat feet. Transparent armor started showing in MH, like the Mighty series and LED Mirage V3.

3rd. current Gothicmade style where Nagano pulled a switcheroo and started reimagining all the MH into this style.

If you're looking for 80's MH designs , Wave's old FSS kits are the ones to find, while Volks IMS kits are the 90's-00's designs.
Or if you're brave enough you can dip into the world of FSS Garage kits, but that's a another whole can of worms lol.

Thank you for going into such detailed research for a manga chapter. You are a prince amongst men.

Speaking of Volks, I have a limited edition Zoukei Mura (same company as Volks) Ta-152H-1 fighter "Slipstream" edition based on Leiji Matsumoto's manga/OVA "The Cockpit". I 100% understand Yakumo's trepidation with building it. Very intimidating models.
