So, yeah, our girl still makes her enemies ded, even if she understands it makes some people very unhappy for... some reason. Boy, does she ever. Hopefully that addresses some of your concerns. 😅

Mild spoilers for the raws:
the fight is the next two chapters, so I might wait until I can get them both up at the same time,

but we'll see. God this guy uses a lot of sound effects.

Well, I've been taught that a good translation should not read like a translation, but more like as if it was written in the target language in the first place, preserving meaning where possible but taking creative liberties to make it sound more natural.
This approach seems to be discouraged in scanlation communities, where it is preferred to stick closely to original wording even if it ends up sounding overly literal and wooden, and to explain any wordplay in TL notes.

Technically yes, but too much liberty has been taken in many occasions. There's more to it than just language: culture, tradition, beliefs; how much of them are you allowed to change to make it sound natural in English or any other language?

The "jelly-filled donuts" convinced me that too much localization is a thing. The word onigiri doesn't sound natural in English, and it never would. But look, it's been added to the dictionary.
