The first chapter of the Tomie series is surprisingly not very good. It's understandable, as literally the first thing we have from Junji Itou. But yeah. The characters are totally insane for seemingly no reason. The art is mostly bad and at times even unintentionally funny. The plot is alright though, and the last page is just awesome.

@Meduchi the art is not very good, you mean, and yes that is understandable. The characters being insane is part of it, that should be quite clear to see.

wow, everybody starts somewhere. A lesson not to judge horror artists/writers too badly if they're just starting out. Shock panel is... ok... and I agree with Meduchi, the characters just act insane, immoral, and murderous for really no reason.

The translations are making me nauseous for some reason. It's not terrible but somehow it is. am I getting effected by the curse of tomie ??
