Extremely creepy (head centipedes... ugh). A fantastic commentary on Japanese culture and the horrific implications of being beholden to one's family, the imperative to have children and continuing the family line overriding any personal desires. One of the more explicit cultural critiques of Ito's oeuvre, up there with Gyo, Dissolving Classroom, and "A Deserter in the House". Much harsher on the idea of family pressure than some of his later work, including "Heart of a Father".
