Because of course a prince of the empire is there to threaten a foreign noble and cause a diplomatic incident when he gets bitchslapped halfway back to the capital...

Also is it just me, or does the prince and the hero clone seem to be suffering from a bad case of same face... sure there is a slight difference in eyes, eyebrows, and hair. But all of those details are rather difficult to differentiate unless they are standing next to each other.
