Well, it's shonen, so we all know it never ends in a tragedy and hopelessness.

I appreciate author though, for sticking to the fact that uncle is still a veteran while Chihiro has just been, like, a year into this top? The early pages gave me dread we're heading to the 'he's green, but his sword is the deus ex machina' (it will probably be in the end), but at least, there's still skill gap even when he's holding 'the sword'. Now I just pray he can write a good way out of this. And my hope is still not gone because, so far, the worst author did was still palatable. But yeah, it'll be really difficult this time

Yeah tbh I get why the use Shinuchi all the time since it's referring to the strongest blade but by now we all know that it is

I think Chihiro absorbed Uruha's sword's illusion technique (when he fought that nutcase) and all of this was a mirage. Didn't they make a whole point about how enchanted blades are indestructible and that's why Enten is special? So I don't buy samurai nazi just snapping Enten in half.

On a different note, if there was any doubt before, I think it's safe to say now that this is ending soon. Which I really doubt was the plan as recently as a few months ago. They introduced characters and never elaborated (that granddauther chick with the huge sword for instance), the Hishaku went from Akatsuki to a 2-chapter plot device and they've never even shown all the blades. It looks too coherent for an axe, so I guess the mangaka cut it short.

also, they translated "Dragonfly" and "Butterfly" but only romanized "Aka" and "Kuro". inconsistent translations disturb me

My prediction is either Samura uses his full power to heal and save Chihiro then Shiba book them out using his teleportation. Of course Samura likely have to pay heavy price for that if not just his own death.

Or Chihiro really dies and Hakuri inherits his dream as the new protagonist

okay, i can agree with that. my beef with the translations of this series started since they used "Cloud Gouger" instead of "Kuregumo", but then use the romanized name for the other Blades. can't help but nitpick these inconsistencies ever since, because where's the line? why don't they translate "Enten" = "Abyssal Sky"? and since they translated "Cloud Gouger", why didn't they translated its techniques: "Mei", "Yui", and "Kou"? like, come on
