So it appears that Shiba is using Chihiro. Why else do something that you believe is irresponsible? Because you believe it is necessary - or because you just want something gained through it that much. I wonder what his motive is; is it revenge against the Hishaku? Yura mentioned him at least twice now, so maybe they have history? Or maybe he just can't say no to Chihiros dead eyes... :meguusmug:
Interesting. There's a chance Uruha could live again depending on what Samura/Tobimune power is.
I think it might not be Tobimune, but Enten, and Shiba just guessed wrong.
All in all, Samuras behavior is hard to read though. He made a grab for Enten, but didn't press the issue with Shiba. Supposedly he spared Chihiro, but he must know that Chihiro would take the blade up again, especially if Shiba doesn't tell him anything about their past.

Maybe to soothe his guilt? Or maybe he figured Shiba would stop Chihiro now - completely misreading his intent. Anyway, I'm intrigued.

No uruha is fucking dead, samura wants to get rid of all the swords AND punish the "heroes"
He revived chihiro because he didnt think he was guilty enough and gave him an out

uhhh, yes? i'd still go for whichever i might have a chance to win first. if i lose against ISIS, fine. they'd have to deal with Godzilla after i'm gone. if i win against ISIS tho? that would give me great satisfaction even if Godzilla immediately obliterates me after

Honestly, I feel the same way about Samura 😄
He should just bump off the Hishaku and form a new resistance group. With no blades at their disposal, he'd slaughter them quicker than the Kamunabi. I'm telling you, the pipsqueak with Uruhas blade will do him in.

The Kamunabis behavior themselves might be a nod to typical government incompetence. Or maybe...
We don't know anything about the Seitei war and what lead to it. It's entirely plausible that the Kamunabi are evil too - we've seen they're pretty arrogant and ruthless in the way they initially wanted to deal with Chihiro - and want to hog all the power. With the Hishaku, they might be able to negotiate, and if not, they at least were able to stalemate them. The Hishaku also isn't disposing of the blades - unlike Sawamura, who probably wants to dispose of bearers and swords alike on the spot, is currently the strongest individual by far, and is actively going after them.

Or maybe he feels guilty and wants to help him achieve his goals?
Though that begs the question why he is dodging Chihiros questions about what happened during the war. For one reason or the other, Shiba refuses to give Chihiro the full picture. He even let him buy into the sword-bearer propaganda for years.
