Then they could have attacked the HQ back when they had the Shinuchi, killed the sword master and used the blade. They're planning something, there were several panels where panda-hair is basically saying as much.Pretty clear at this point that the Hishaku grand plan boils down to 'we should be strong enough to win even if we blow our cover, waste huge portions of our fighting power on stunts, needlessly fight a strong guy we could have left alone, divide our forces, and entrust our most powerful weapon to an imbecile'.
I think after the Rakuzaichi Yura said that they wanted to see how the user would react to the blade so they decided to sell it in the AuctionThen they could have attacked the HQ back when they had the Shinuchi, killed the sword master and used the blade. Eh, sending Hirohiko to distract Samura made sense. Note how they only started moving the moment Owl disappeared - Yura even outright said a couple chapters ago they can't make a move because of it. It's pretty clear what would've happened if they tried to pull anything while Samura was playing Big Brother: He'd have massacred them all in the ensuing free-for-all.Pretty clear at this point that the Hishaku grand plan boils down to 'we should be strong enough to win even if we blow our cover, waste huge portions of our fighting power on stunts, needlessly fight a strong guy we could have left alone, divide our forces, and entrust our most powerful weapon to an imbecile'.
...Except that Samura was going to fight the Kamunabi alongside them, or even on his own. The Hishaku probably banked on the Kamunabi splitting their forces to protect the sword-bearers - since Yura cracked the seal of the Shinuchi already, they probably win if they get their hands on it; certainly, it's more powerful then the Kumeyuri.
'They have a plan' was the tagline for Battlestar Galactica. Spoiler: the Cylon plan made zero sense in the show, and probably didn't exist outside the show. Then they could have attacked the HQ back when they had the Shinuchi, killed the sword master and used the blade. But that's the whole point, they're not doing the obvious thing. Which is more likely a sign of them having some other plan, rather than the guys who've been scheeming in the dark for years now all of a sudden deciding to just brute force it....Except that Samura was going to fight the Kamunabi alongside them, or even on his own. Just hide your strength, let him wear himself out, then pile on.
That was back when the sword was still contracted to Genocide dude. And it did end up messing with the new user's head, so that was a valid precaution. But if they'd kill the genocidal guy first, Yura could form a new contract with the genocide blade. Or at the very least, by killing the guy, all of the contracted blade users would die, meaning they could use all the swords now and have massive firepower. So the question stands. If they feel like they can take out the enemy HQ (and without their only sword user to boot, so they're quite confident), why didn't they just do that before?I think after the Rakuzaichi Yura said that they wanted to see how the user would react to the blade so they decided to sell it in the Auction
Good point hell I think Shiba's mentor wondered why they're doing what they're doing now when they had Samura on their sideThat was back when the sword was still contracted to Genocide dude.
