From the prince reaction I'm guessing he wanted to make her a concubine or push all the study and work his new bitch should have done on the heroine in exchange for the exile to be cancelled, didn't expect her to run away, even the bitch is surprised from it instead of enjoying it.
To the user who asked, yes, in many stories like this the stupid prince gets punished by marrying the real villain, bitch doesn't do a queen job, doesn't have the right culture/intelligence, only thinks of enjoying life when draining the treasury, treats the prince like on of many in her reverse harem, become totally useless because the game knowledge of events stop as is the endgame.

I doubt a prince would have the authority to exile a duke's daughter. A prince is nothing but the monarch's son. He's not the king. If the monarch and a duke had a plan to make their children marry each other, there would have been a lot of trust and mutual understanding between them. Or the marriage was the deal to establish better relations. It would all be wrecked by the prince's sudden, selfish decision. The only exception would be the monarch actually instructing the prince to do so for reasons unknown. It would be risky business, though, as it would require dealing with a very angry and insulted duke afterwards. But of course the Japanese isekai rarely approaches the situation realistically.

I've got a wonderful story for you, do be prepared to be angry almost every chapter (assuming you end up hating the prince as much as me), it's called "The Lady Likes a Nerd over Princes". It's 16 chapters, the romance is lovely, and it has one of the most satisfying endings of any story I've ever read. I highly recommend it and it's one of my all time favorite mangas.

It's 16 chapters, the romance is lovely, and it has one of the most satisfying endings of any story I've ever read. I highly recommend it and it's one of my all time favorite mangas.

Yeah, I started this when it was being first translated it made me so angry every chapter, I completely understand needing to take a break.
