The JP is ambiguous, so I erred on the side of caution and kept it the same.

I think author gunned for the ambiguity of 'like' as in just happy to be with her, but he is not sure if its romantically or not as he never experienced one; but yeah, I think it was intentionally worded to be vague.

BUT, how could Kanade want to treasure her when Aki's obviously in charge of her own life. He's not there yet, because she didn't show any vulnerability. He's been in a passive position (heh) the whole time. He looks up to her too much.

Oh this is different than what I was spoiled on. Obviously they’re still in play as far as dating (unless the story takes a huge swerve), but I think we’re headed for the classic “who’s in the driver’s seat” dilemma.

Kanade seems to have 0 relationship experience so Aki is going to have to broach the issue if she wants to hug and kiss the Lolita boy. She herself seems really guarded so I expect her to dance around it while pining over Kanade.

I liked her drip as a teen better. That weird mismatched clothing with lots of belts makes her look like a chuuni delinquent, it's lame and cute. The grown-up version is just straight-up punk, which is... not my favorite.
