Thanks for the update! As flawed as she is, I really feel for her because she never got to learn things properly, to live normally, and her tough shell really just conceals a deep desperation. While she may not always act right, in many ways she seems like an abused animal to me. She claws and bites but at the end of the day she still really wants to be loved. As much as I love our main couple, I actually don't mind these chapters on our secondary characters. It helps them be more than simply friend A or B. Moreover, by learning about Tendou we also get to better understand Tachibana. While he's a nice guy, he gets to be a nice guy because he never actually gets close to anyone. Since everyone is his friend, no one is truly his friend. To achieve that, he actually is to some degree indifferent to those around him, which of course ends up hurting people like Tendou who want to mean something more. Rather than consider this pair as distraction, personally I see them as a secondary set of protagonists whose story line weaves with and contrasts with the main story line.
