I think it's because she's broke as hell now and got mindbroken with her pursuit of Tsubaki, thus the public meltdown. Though I do agree with you that it's kind of unrealistic for high class women to be publicly vying for a female prostitute's attention in the first place, so I found it strange that even women were handing Tsubaki roses in one of the previous chapters.

Though I'm not an expert in history so feel free to correct me, ofc.

The owner lady of the brothel or something, clearly said to her they gonna wring "every last cent out of them", and she was gonna doing so with Ayano too. and Tsubaki are still doing said job with no sign of her redeem yet.
And with the work experience and seduce skill, they know how to trick and manipulate people in. Look at how she purposely seduce and grooming Ayano. manipulate in play, especially using love and affection and trust, with ill intend to drain that woman of her money. At best they didn't do it illegal, but for sure scummy.

To you, that woman is a disposable character so you don't care what she going through, you only feel bad for Tsubaki, she is born into this and don't know better and groom into this life. Yes what about that poor woman who got tricked by her ? if Ayano going through the same thing and her family is destroyed, which is what they planed to do here, you also gonna say it is fair and it is Ayano fault, no one force her ?
While we could expect she actually fall grow to care for Ayano for real and don't do it cliché scenario, That woman unfortunately is not that lucky.

nah, no one forced her, but that why manipulation is at play, they know how naive and clueless this little girl is, know she don't even aware of who she hire and what for, and use that to their advance, while teach her to seduce her, with ill intend. I guess a lot of people skipped the historical explanation of Tsubaki's deal huh.

To recap:
She was sold to a brothel, probably as a child.

The brothel takes most of what clients pay for her, leaving her with only a small cut.

The brothel also makes her pay for all the clothing, jewelry, make-up, etc., she needs to attract customers, forcing her to rack up a debt she can't pay no matter how hard she works.

As long as that debt exists SHE'S NOT ALLOWED TO QUIT OR LEAVE THE BROTHEL.

Hell most of the time she's not even literally allowed to leave the brothel. She mentioned that to MC earlier, they only let her go outside because she was with MC.

In my opinion a) she didn't "trick" MC and b) her life sucks enough that it would be totally understandable if she did.
