At first it looked like the cursed elves were just tanned.
Break a elf magic taboo, become tanned as punishment. That made the elves look silly.
But the images don't do it justice, the cursed elves are really burnt, which is why they use bandages to cover their bodies when outside, because any contact with sunlight should be painful too.
They are also in pain randomly even without sunlight.
That's a really evil curse. The elven elders are scumbags as always, makes sense the cursed elves hate them.
And now the cursed elves are also addicted to drugs.
And their addiction is getting exploited by the humans to take them as slaves.
Pretty fitting that as soon as Rhodri comes close to the elf-human border, the humans become involved again in the story.
This stop in the cursed elves village is going to be eventful.
