Sagara is particularly annoying in this chapter starting with, "But now I'm officially Kurokawa's boyfriend , so I have to be rock-steady". The reality of course is that Kurohawa does not think of Sagara as her boyfriend.
The problem almost certainly stems from Japan being a country with strictly defined gender roles. Sagara is clearly not comfortable being seen as a woman and tries really hard to be a man which is creating issues.
