For examples:
Accidentally putting up the wrong prop during the school play and someone else takes the fall for you.

Two closet nerds liking the same terrible movie and not wanting anyone else to know.

An embarrassing middle name

Explaining to someone how you got a specific phobia.

Or just anything that can cause you to bond with somebody.
Which is the real romance of it, the bonding experience.

Sometimes the secret is just liking the color people assume you won't like.
For example: a goth girl liking Muted Yellow.
But the only thing she ever wears is blue

that cant be considered a secret imo, secrets can harm you when they're exposed, that's why i cant understand the romance in it, sharing your sensitive information is just dangerous not romantic

i guess this clears things up for me, i consider secret more vulnerable, so when characters are sharing harmless information and call it a secret, it throws me out of loop cause i dont see it as a secret, they're just doing normal bonding by sharing personal trivia and pretend it's a secret just for fun

but in this particular chapter she shared a real secret, i cant find it romantic i find it serious. even MC think it's a serious matter, her reaction 'omg we shared a secret' is inappropriate considering how heavy the secret is (the fate of her species is at her hands)
