In case anyone's wondering, the current batch (up to 197) is just in need of typesetting, which I'm currently doing. We were on a bit of a uhhh vacation before, during, and after Leyte Part 2.

The 4koma has switched from a weekly serialization to a monthly serialization, so single chapters will be longer like 201 but only come out once a month. 202 comes out July 13th.

I know that it changed to monthly serialization, but it has been a few months since the scan release. I can't find raws online, so I'm hoping the series hasn't stopped. Has it? This has been one of the best series I have read in a long time. I'd be really disappointed if it has stopped.

However, they've switched online readers to Comic Walker, a reader that's both lower quality and harder to rip. For scanlation we will probably be waiting for digital tankōbon releases. Chapter 204 was the last chapter released on the old reader; its typeset is in the proofreading stage at the time of this comment. At least now we'll be able to do the volume omake.

Yeah, it's... depressing, actually.

I get the thing about the change in online reader, making the raws harder to get... Not being able to read Japanese, I have no idea if the digital tankobon covering the next chapters has been released or not. Maybe it's legitimately not out. Whatever the case, I just hope the truth isn't, "No one is scanlating this anymore." This has been such an enjoyable series to read.

Not really, since the above linked Reader is apparently not avaiable anymore. Just found a place where you can buy the raw of Volume 15 and since it was originally said they were waiting for that one, I wondered if they are working on it.

Ah, thanks. Well, hopefully the scanlators are working on it. My fear is that with Kancolle's popularity decline that they won't really want to translate it. I'd hope the same group would continue; they've done such a good job for such an enjoyable series.

No matter how unpopular KanColle gets (It's not unpopular and anyone telling you so doesn't know what they're talking about), these manga aren't being dropped. Life obligations just happened to coincide spectacularly when the volume released for me (the editor) and only yesterday did I get the time to start powering through the volume. I expect typesetting to be done before the Tsuyu/Summer event begins this week and cleaning and redrawing to be finished next week, so after some error checking I'll be releasing all 5 chapters (206-210) from the volume at once.

What you can bet on is that I'll probably release before Tanaka implements the Extra Operation.

Oh, funny story. Throughout this whole gap in releases, Momoi (the mangaka) has managed to safely give birth to a badass baby and has resumed work from her maternity leave although only releasing 6 pages a month so next volume release may or may not be impacted by this. I'm pretty sure they had enough full chapters in stock to be fine but I imagine she still needs to make the omakes chapters.

Update: All chapters are typeset, cleaning/redrawing will begin in two days.
Update 2: Redrawing is under way.

Thanks for the post. That's great to hear. And, admittedly, it's not like my comment about Kancolle's popularity was based on anything scientific. I don't actually play Kancolle; I just like the concept and characters. That said, I just feel like the various online communities I go to that have Kancolle content (e.g. Mangadex, anime-related forums, the Kancolle wikia, etc.) seem to have a lot less Kancolle content coming out ever more. Even the Kancolle wikia seems to not get updated anywhere near as fast when game updates are done and the updates aren't as complete (with new voice lines, new CGs, etc.).

But, if Kancolle really is doing well still and there's still new ancillary content being created like the official 4-koma, that is music to my ears. Like I said, I don't actually play Kancolle, but I absolutely love a lot of the ancillary content, first and foremost the 4-koma your group has worked on over the years.

Thanks again for the update, and keep up the great work. I've waited 10 months for a new release for the 4-koma, so I can definitely wait however long you guys need to do this to your level of satisfaction. 😃
