I could see this being done in 3 volumes, maybe 4. That's only if it's just the two of them, though, unless they decide to add more assassins/love interests to up the stakes. Since there were other relatives in the main guy's family who are out for his inheritance, the potential for competition of who would get to him first (killing, love, or otherwise) can really stretch the series here like that other story about the OP hero's party members trying to assassinate him. That was cute.
That said, I don't see it being sustainable as a full blown series. There's only one joke here, and it would get old pretty quickly.
im too used to your pink name that for a second i thought it was someone else T-TA cute oneshot from the latest Gangan Joker. I couldn't find any actual info on the author, よる (Yoru), and there already happened to be two other authors on MD with that name so I didn't have much of a choice in how to name them. If anyone knows anything about them, let me know.
I wouldn't say that. Mangaka could transition it into a slice-of-life comedy thing where other assassins show up and they get into various stupid antics like Aharen-san, or lean into the romance more where they get to know each other beyond looks and their roles with the occasional darker drama backdrop like Kimi wa Meido-sama. Also a serialisation could try to redo the pacing in a completely different way and reveal the joke at a later point, transforming the nature of the hook into an occasional recurring joke. That was cute.
